Free Software "Advocate" Using DMCA for Harassment...

E-mail Print PDF

Readers may recall that Brandon Lozza,  following his previous, ineffective, attempt to shut down this site, managed to pull together a properly-formatted DMCA takedown notice regarding his email, originally published here with his explicit permission.

As required, I provided a valid counter-notice and invited Brandon to take me to court, and took the content in question down for 14 business days—more like 21, actually—to see whether he'd follow through.

Of course, he didn't.

So, it's back, and I expect my hosting provider will be giving short shrift to future complaints from that particular direction.

It's interesting to see how a "free software advocate" uses a law he doesn't support to harass those who express different opinions than the "free software party line". Having failed to follow through with legal action, Lozza's sole intent could only be to harass and intimidate.
